The history of ME = MARSHMALLOWS :D

The marshmallow (Marsh Mallow or marshmellow) is a confection that, in its modern form, typically consists of sugar or corn syrup, water, gelatin that has been softened in hot water, dextrose, flavourings, and sometimes colouring, whipped to a spongy consistency. Some marshmallow recipes call for eggs. This confection is the modern version of a medicinal confection made from Althaea officinalis, the marshmallow plant.

It seems likely that the marshmallow first came into being as a medicinal substance, since the mucilaginousextracts from the root of the marshmallow plant, Althaea officinalis, were praised as a soothing remedy for sore throats. Concoctions of other parts of the marshmallow plant had medical uses as well. The root has been used since Egyptian antiquity in a honey-sweetened confection useful in the treatment of sore throat. The later French version of the recipe, called pâte de guimauve (or "guimauve" for short), included an eggwhitemeringue and was often flavored with rose water. Pâte de guimauve more closely resembles contemporary commercially available marshmallows, which no longer contain any actual marshmallow.
The use of marshmallow to make a candy dates back to ancient Egypt, where the recipe called for extracting sap from the plant and mixing it with nuts and honey. Another pre-modern recipe uses the pith of the marshmallow plant, rather than the sap. The stem was peeled back to reveal the soft and spongy pith, which was boiled in sugar syrup and dried to produce a soft, chewy confection.[2] Candymakers in early 19th century France made the innovation of whipping up the marshmallow sap and sweetening it, to make a confection similar to modern marshmallow. The confection was made locally, however, by the owners of small candy stores. They would extract the sap from the mallow plant's root, and whip it themselves. The candy was very popular but its manufacture was labor-intensive. In the late 19th century, French manufacturers devised a way to get around this by using egg whites or gelatin, combined with modified corn starch, to create the chewy base. This avoided the laborious extraction process, but it did require industrial methods to combine the gelatin and corn starch in the right way.
Another milestone in the development of the modern marshmallow was the invention of an extrusion process by the American Alex Doumak in 1948. This allowed marshmallows to be manufactured in a fully automated way, and produced the cylindrical shape we now associate with marshmallows. The process involves running the ingredients through tubes, and then extruding the finished product as a soft cylinder, which is then cut into sections and rolled in a mixture of finely powdered cornstarch and confectioner's sugar. Doumak founded the Doumak company in 1961 on the strength of his patent on this process.

I'm bored

Kellie's Castle

Kellie's Castle (sometimes also called Kellie's Folly) is located near Batu Gajah, and is about 20 minutes' drive from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. The unfinished, ruined mansion, was built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith. According to differing accounts, it was either a gift for his wife or a home for his son.

The history
William Kellie Smith was from a village in Scotland known as Kellas. In 1890, at the age of 20, he arrived in the then undeveloped Malaya. Here, he met an estate owner called Alma Baker, who had won concessions from the state government to clear 360 hectares of forests in Perak. With the substantial profits made from his business venture with Alma Baker, Smith started planting rubber trees and dabbled in the tin mining industry. In time, he became the owner of Kinta Kellas Estate and the Kinta Kellas Tin Dredging Company.
Now with his fortune made, he returned home to marry his Scottish sweetheart, Agnes, and brought her over to Malaysia in 1903. The following year, the couple was blessed with a daughter whom they named Helen. For many years after that, Agnes tried to conceive, but to no avail. William Smith desperately wanted a son and heir to take over his empire in the Malay Isles. After many years, Agnes finally gave birth to a son, Anthony, in 1915. The birth of his child was the start of even greater success for William Smith. To celebrate Anthony's birth, William Smith decided to expand on his mansion. Smith started planning for a huge castle which he planned to call Kellas House, after his hometown in Scotland.

I've told you that i visited Kellie's Castle right ?

All i can say about the wedding was BEAUTIFUL ! but the cham-cha ceremomy is a rushh ..which we jimui's can't really play much games on the groom best man . The games we managed to play was
: drinking milk+honey from a milk bottle
: drinking a jug of guinnes gulp+bittergourd ! imagine the taste of it ..EW !
: something sour in a drink which i forget
: wasabi in a keropok
Then the guys was given disposable underwears and clips with lipsticks on their lips ..
I help to put the red lipsticks on the guys mouth ..then the groom had to wear the disposable undies and his brothers or cousins have to kiss it ..only 2 of them dare to kiss it LAWL .
After playing, then only the groom was allowed to see his bride but before that ..he has to say I LOVE YOU in 10 languages ..challenging huh ? xD oh yaa ,hakkah and hokkien was also allowed .
so he said only 3 languages but we had to rush ..so we ask him to sing a love song for her ..
first he sang a chinese song (kan guo lai) then he sang (i swear)
And we just let him see his bride after singing ..

At 10:30, we went to the church for the wedding ..the wedding actually starts at 11:30 but my aunty was rushing us like mad..so we terpaksa rush and we need to wait for like an hour until the wedding starts ..
We were given a booklet ..we need to follow it and we sang some songs after that we went back home to get ready for the dinner !

Dinner starts at 7:15 ,my sis was always the slowest yet she woke up from her nap late and get ready even later..by the time we reached there it was 7:15 .
Luckily,the dinner haven't started ..
So the bride and the groom walks in then we eat ..and the usual stuffs la
It was then came to the karoke part ,where volunteers go up on stage and sing whatever song they want .
it was horrible until an old man came up and bring the mood back ..
He sang with confident and dance ..he even brought his own cassette
Then something random happen..while the ppl was singing in front ,2 old man stands and dance to the rythme of the song ! it was so cute and funny !
